Body in the Rems: Police identify dead body
Investigators have identified the dead man who was recovered from the Rems. He is an 83-year-old senior citizen from Remshalden who was reported missing in October, according to a police statement. Even after the autopsy, the investigators are still not assuming foul play.
A passer-by discovered the lifeless body last week on the riverbank in Remshalden in the Rems-Murr district and alerted the emergency services. However, emergency services were only able to recover the body from the water several kilometers further downstream, in the municipality of Weinstadt.
The discovery of the body led to an immediate response from the local emergency services. Despite the challenges, it took them several days to safely retrieve the body from the emergency situation in the Rems.
