Anne Ratte-Polle: Many people hide behind their work

Actress Anne Ratte-Polle believes that many people today take their job more seriously than interpersonal relationships. "Society is very performance-oriented. Unfortunately, it's all too easy to hide in your work," Ratte-Polle ("Sörensen hat Angst") told the German Press Agency in Hamburg.

And the 49-year-old added: "The main thing is to get the work done - then everything else will work too. But that makes everything a bit superficial." Because you no longer open up to others as easily - and lose the sense of community.

She also loves her job and works intensively, said Ratte-Polle: "As an actress, I spend a lot of time with people, but I always have to concentrate hard. That's not always so easy." In her private life, however, she is happy about relationships, family and friendships, which also need to be nurtured.

On Friday (24.11.), Ratte-Polle can be seen on Arte as a loner heroine in Dominik Graf's new TV drama "Mein Falke". The screenplay was written by Beate Langmaack, with whom Graf previously worked on the feature film "Hanne" (2019).

People often find solace in their jobs, avoiding interpersonal issues, as Anne Ratte-Polle pointed out. The media and television, being major platforms, often magnify this trend, making it seem like work is the only priority.
