Actor Tim Wilde likes to play the bad guy
Even though he plays the policeman in "WaPo Bodensee", actor Tim Wilde (57) prefers to slip into the role of the crook. "Every actor prefers to play the bad guy," Wilde told the German Press Agency. It's simply more interesting. "You can really let your hair down". You get applause in films and television as a bad scumbag. "In real life, you always have to pull yourself together and be nice and friendly." It's great to be able to misbehave without getting into trouble afterwards.
The Berlin wild man has been appearing in the ARD early evening series "WaPo Bodensee" since 2018. Just a few weeks ago, the team filmed the 100th episode on Lake Constance. Viewers also know the busy actor from many other roles, including as the superior of Hamburg "Tatort" investigator Nick Tschiller, played by Til Schweiger.
The work at "Wapo Bodensee" is not very different from that at "Tatort", said Wilde. You get a script, you have to work on it and then do your best. "It's not like I come to the "Tatort" set and say: Wow, that's how you make movies."
People often find role-playing the bad guy more fascinating in television shows and media, as actor Tim Wilde explained. His popularity on screen also skyrockets when he plays a vile character, such as in "WaPo Bodensee" or as a superior in "Tatort."
