Fiat will be 125 years old on July 11. To mark the anniversary, the brand is unveiling the new edition of the classic Panda small car, which will bear the Grande suffix in future.

The Fiat Grande Panda: From Exceptionally Tiny to Just Tiny

The Fiat Panda has always been a compact car with a length under four meters. This is all set to change as Fiat announces the launch of the new Grande Panda. Based on the Stellantis STLA Smart platform, this new model is set to be larger in size.

Fiat is continuing the legacy of their compact car line, which began more than 40 years ago, with the introduction of the Grande Panda. This five-door steep hatchback is expected to be launched in Europe soon, and the company also plans to offer it in the Middle East and Africa with customized powertrain options. In these regions, it will be available with a hybrid gasoline engine and as an electric vehicle.

Details about the powertrains are yet to be announced. However, the Grande Panda is expected to be closely related to the new Stellantis model, the Citroën C3. The electric variant of the C3 has a powerful electric motor with 83 kW/113 PS and an LFP battery with 44 kWh, providing a range of approximately 320 kilometers.

The Grande Panda is expected to have a similar price range as the C3, with a starting price of around 15,000 Euro for the gasoline version and around 23,000 Euro for the electric version in Europe.

The Panda's distinctive look, already distinctive and recognizable, will be even more eye-catching with its rugged Adventure Look. This includes body cladding, pseudo-skid plates, and roof rails. The front grille has a black pixel design, and the daytime running light signature is also composed of horizontal pixels. The door panels display a three-dimensional Panda logo, and the tailgate features a 3D logo with the brand name.

Exact information about when the Grande Panda will be available in Germany is yet to be revealed by Fiat. The sister model, the Citroën C3, is scheduled to be available in Germany later this summer, and the Opel Frontera, which is also technically related to the Grande Panda, is set to launch this year. Therefore, it is likely that the Grande Panda will be launched in 2024.

Compared to previous Panda generations, the new Grand Panda has grown significantly. With a length of 3.99 meters, it still remains a small car.
Compared to its technical brother, the Citroen C3, the Grande Panda offers a much more exciting design. Five seats make it the ideal family car for the city.
