Luxury EV vehicle from Ferrari arrives with high price point.

For years, Ferrari's cars have been known for their powerful engines and steep prices. This trend is set to continue in the world of electric vehicles, as a secret source claims it may even intensify. The costly model is reported to be manufactured in a new factory that the company is pretty hyped about.

According to a clandestine informant, the first electric car from Ferrari will set buyers back at least half a million Euro. The base price doesn't include the usual extra features, which typically add an extra 15 to 20 percent. An individual who's privy to the situation backs this up. As for a second electric car model, the insider hints it's in development, but it's still early days yet. Ferrari has yet to comment on the matter.

At half a million Euro, the price for the Ferrari electric car exceeds the average price of 350,000 Euro including extras for other Ferrari models and luxury cars. A Porsche Taycan, on the other hand, can be purchased for a mere 100,000 Euro.

Ferrari plans to manufacture its electric cars, hybrid vehicles, and gasoline engines in the new factory in Maranello, with production set to start soon. The factory is rumored to have a capacity of up to 20,000 cars, with the insider predicting it'll be up and running within the next three to four months. The company reportedly sold fewer than 14,000 cars last year.

Expected release towards the end of 2025

During a shareholder meeting in April, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna stated that "this advanced factory will provide us with the flexibility and technical capacity that will exceed our needs for the coming years."

In the past, the iconic Italian brand has announced plans to release an electric car by the end of 2025. The proposed price suggests they're confident that affluent drivers are ready for this new car, despite competitors on the mass market, due to sluggish demand, reducing the costs of electric cars. Ferrari's rival, Lamborghini, will introduce its first electric car in 2028.
