Screen Entertainment - "Germany's Next Top Model": Kadidja eliminated, twin sisters to be assessed as a pair

"ProSieben's 'Germany's Next Topmodel' star Heidi Klum (50) shocked viewers with two major decisions on the show. First, she sent home previous front-runner Kadidja (21) because her smile was her strong suit; her serious facial expressions didn't hold up as a cover girl. Second, Klum decided to create the first-ever model duo in the show's history by pairing identical twins Luka and Julian (24). From now on, they'll be treated as one model, advancing or being eliminated together.

Klum tried hard to see them as separate individuals but admitted they had a unique chemistry. Eliminated contestant Kadidja, known for her natural look, was gunning for the title 'Harper's Bazaar' editor-in-chief Kerstin Schneider's attention along with male participant Rooj Ali. Despite Kerstin's initial enthusiasm, Kadidja lost points in the second challenge by showing shakiness in her high heels during a runway performance on a partially glass catwalk over a 100-meter drop.

Social Media Backlash

Fans of Kadidja who had seen her perform well in various challenges on the show were displeased with her elimination. They posted photos of 'Harper's Bazaar' title models smiling and in heels, criticizing the unrealistic standards set for Kadidja during the runway challenge. Some also claimed the decision to make Luka and Julian a single model act gave an unfair advantage to the other male contestants.

Twins Luka and Julian, who've shared every challenge so far, are now one unit in the competition. The finale of 'Germany's Next Topmodel' is on June 13th. Hitting back at the critics, Klum shared that the show's not about nitpicking and emphasizing physical flaws but appreciating the models for what they bring to the table. "There are always flaws," she said, "and it's not about finding the perfect one.""
