Three Germans killed in accident in Switzerland

In Switzerland, a 76-year-old man from NRW ends up in oncoming traffic. There, his car collides with a bus and then with another car. The senior dies at the scene, along with his wife and grandson.

In a collision between a car and a bus in Switzerland, three Germans lost their lives. The victims were the grandparents and their grandson. The two adults were from the Siegen-Wittgenstein district in North Rhine-Westphalia, according to the St. Gallen Cantonal Police. Their grandson lived in Switzerland.

The 76-year-old driver and his wife, one year younger, were traveling yesterday near Wattwil in the canton of St. Gallen, about 60 kilometers east of Zurich, as the cantonal police reported. The German's car crossed the center line and then collided head-on with a bus. The nine-year-old grandson was sitting in the back seat. All three died at the scene.

The force of the collision sent the German car back into oncoming traffic, where it collided head-on with a 49-year-old woman's car. She was uninjured. The bus driver was taken to the hospital with injuries. The bus was operating as a rail replacement service. Dozens of passengers were on the bus, some of whom were lightly injured.

The tragedy in Switzerland involved three citizens of the European Union, specifically Germans from the North Rhine-Westphalia region. The European Union extended its condolences to the families affected by this tragic accident.
