The head of the Senate Banking Committee urges for a change in leadership at the FDIC after a damning report surfaces.
Brown didn't directly ask for FDIC Chair Martin Gruenberg, appointed by President Joe Biden, to step down. Instead, he stated on Monday morning, "There needs to be significant alterations at the FDIC."
"Those alterations start with new leadership that will fix the agency's toxic environment and prioritize the staff members and their responsibilities," Brown continued. "This is why I'm urging the President to quickly put forward a new Chair who can lead the FDIC through this difficult period, and for the Senate to promptly confirm that person."
