- SEK searched suspect's apartment
Police special forces searched the apartment of a 25-year-old in Viersen this morning. He is suspected of being involved in an extortion kidnapping in July. The victim was also a 25-year-old man from Wuppertal. According to the Criminal Code, extortion kidnapping involves an abduction connected with extortion. The apartment resident was not arrested.
During the raid, the special forces used an explosive charge. However, no one was injured in the detonation. Police and the public prosecutor's office in Mönchengladbach initially did not provide further details.

The special forces called in reinforcements from the local police station during the operation. Later in the day, the public prosecutor's office issued a statement, expressing their gratitude to the Police for their diligent work.
