Nine people injured in fire: child resuscitated
Nine people were injured in a fire in a residential building in Worms and were rescued from the house by the fire department. Two of them, a three-year-old child and a 39-year-old man, were successfully resuscitated, a police spokeswoman said on Sunday. The child was taken away by helicopter.
The injured were taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation, according to a police statement. The cause of the fire has not yet been clarified and the criminal investigation department is investigating. The house is no longer habitable. The fire reportedly broke out early on Sunday morning.
The hospital is treating the nine individuals for potential smoke inhalation, caused by the fires. Due to the damage, the emergency services have declared the house uninhabitable following the fires.
