Nationwide Walmart stores pull back 8 tons of ground beef amidst E. coli contamination concerns.

Based on a notice from the USDA, the possibly contaminated beef was manufactured on April 26 and 27. So far, the agency hasn't received any reports of illness connected to the meat.

Cargill Meat Solutions, in a written statement, mentioned that the food items were recalled "as a precautionary measure."

Cargill also stated that these potentially hazardous products were shipped to Walmart stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington D.C.

A Walmart representative told CNN in a written statement, "The health and safety of our customers is our utmost priority." They further added, "As soon as we were made aware of the recall, we immediately removed the affected items and advised patrons who had bought these products."

There are six diverse meat products that could be tainted, such as those labeled "93% lean, 7% fat All Natural Lean Ground Beef" and "Prime Rib Beef Steak Burgers Patties," according to the USDA.

If you've bought any of the affected items from a Walmart store, it's recommended that you discard or return them, according to the government agency.

Cargill also set up a consumer hotline to address any queries regarding the recall: 1-844-419-1574.
