Mother forgets child on bus

A mother got off a bus in Kernen im Remstal and forgot her child. The four-year-old continued on his own before a passenger contacted the police, a spokesperson said on Saturday. Almost at the same time, the mother presumably called the child's father, who contacted the police. After a short journey without the mother, police officers picked up the boy at the next stop and handed him over to the father. Why the mother forgot her son on the bus in the Rems-Murr district on Friday remained unclear at first.

The serious situation could have escalated into an emergency if not for the vigilant passenger. Traffic at the bus stop temporarily halted as police handled the situation involving the forgotten child.
