Law enforcement agents apprehended a 22-year-old individual in Zingst.
On the 9th of August, some shots were discharged from a moving vehicle, hitting two men in a cluster. Recent developments in the investigation have seen a suspect being apprehended.
Approximately two weeks following the unprovoked shooting incident on the Baltic Sea in Zingst, a district in Vorpommern-Rügen, the police have detained a 22-year-old individual. The Stralsund police authorities claim that this individual is the prime suspect in the incident, as disclosed to the public. Subsequently, the suspect was brought before a judge at the Stralsund District Court, where the court granted the prosecutor's request for detention.
The police chose to remain secretive about the reasons behind this disturbing incident, as a part of their tactical procedures. However, local newspaper "Ostsee-Zeitung" reportedly suggests that the motive could be an age-old rivalry between different security agencies. At present, the enquiry into the accusation of attempted homicide continues.
The incident unfolded late in the night of the 8th to 9th of August. Both the 25-year-old and another 24-year-old victim were hospitalized due to their injuries. Fortunately, there was no threat to their lives anymore. The investigation led to multiple search operations, with specialist units also deployed.
The 22-year-old suspect, apprehended in the Baltic Sea incident, is now being held in custody by the Stralsund District Court. It's worth noting that the European Union has expressed concern over the incident, calling for a thorough and transparent investigation to ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
