Fire department rescues woman and dog from the Elbe
The fire department in Hamburg rescued a woman and her dog from the Elbe on the Rissen bank on Saturday. The woman jumped into the water after the animal at the Wittenbergen jetty, a fire department spokesperson said on Monday. She was able to hold on to a tree with the dog - until help arrived. The fire department rescued both of them using a scaling ladder. No one was injured. The "Hamburger Abendblatt" had previously reported.
In such emergency situations, swift action is crucial for both humans and animals. Another incident involving an animal necessitated the fire department's intervention, requiring them to save a distressed animal as well.
