Farmer killed by gunshot
A farmer has been shot and fatally injured in Blankenheim (Euskirchen district). As things stand, the Aachen public prosecutor's office is assuming a "tragic hunting accident", said senior public prosecutor Katja Schlenkermann-Pitts on Sunday. The elderly man was sitting on a tractor on Friday when the shot was fired. He is now being investigated for involuntary manslaughter. The public prosecutor did not initially provide any further information about a suspected shooter or the identity of the deceased. The "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger" had previously reported.
