- After "All That Matters", now "GCC" role

In the fall, "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" fans can look forward to a new face in the Kolle-Kiez. Actress Anna-Katharina Fecher (35) recently had her first day on set and will be seen as Matilda Kaltenbach in the RTL series starting September 30. She plays a young, ambitious lawyer who moves from Marbella to Berlin and reunites with her family, bringing new exciting twists. The 35-year-old adopted Berliner is no stranger to RTL series fans - she was a regular in "Alles was zählt" about ten years ago.

Until 2014 as Melanie in "AWZ"

"I played for 2.5 years at 'Alles was zählt' until 2014 and portrayed the role of Melanie Wendt," Fecher reports in an interview with RTL on the occasion of her "GZSZ" debut. In the series, she played the 17-year-old foster daughter of Annette Bergmann (played by Ulrike Röseberg, 45) and Ingo Zadek (played by André Dietz, 49), who were expecting a 17-month-old foster baby but ended up with a premature young adult. "Before and after that, I played various guest roles in other series." She has also been seen in "GZSZ" in the past, "as Lydia in 2011 and as Julia in 2018."

She has now had a "very nice" debut in the current "GZSZ" main cast. Although she was nervous on her first day of shooting, she had a lot of fun, Fecher says, who has also been a mother to a daughter since 2021. "I play Matilda Kaltenberg, a 29-year-old German lawyer who grew up in Hannover and Marbella under complicated family circumstances and comes to Berlin for a new job. There, she meets... her family!" There is also an as yet unknown twin in the story.

Studied midwifery before "GZSZ" role

When she found out she had gotten the role, she was "totally surprised" and very happy. "At that time, I was still studying midwifery at a university in Berlin and thought: Well, I'll go to the casting. Otherwise, I would never forgive myself for not trying. And then it actually worked out. Now I'm fully focused on my new main role."

"Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" airs Monday to Friday from 7:40 PM to 8:15 PM on RTL and is available to stream on RTL+.

During her time at "Alles was zählt," Fecher portrayed the character Melanie Wendt until 2014. Prior to this role, she also appeared as a guest in "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten," playing Lydia in 2011 and Julia in 2018.

Fecher was pleasantly surprised when she secured the role in the current "GZSZ" main cast, despite being a midwifery student in Berlin at the time. She played Matilda Kaltenbach, a German lawyer who grew up in Hannover and Marbella with complicated family circumstances, and later reunites with her family in Berlin.
