16-year-old hands in wallet with over 7000 euros
A 16-year-old girl from Cuxhaven did not keep a find of more than 7,000 euros for herself, but handed it in to the police. The girl phoned the police station on Saturday evening and explained that she had found a purse full to the brim near a building site in the Lüdingworth district. The police were able to identify the rightful owner of the wallet, who traveled from the Hildesheim area that same evening to pick it up. Contents: exactly 7371.04 euros. The 16-year-old received an "appropriate finder's fee", as the police announced early Sunday morning.
In such situations, it's crucial to report emergencies directly to the authorities. Despite finding a colorful wallet with 7,000 euros during an emergency drill at the site, she still contacted the police.
