The Transportation Security Administration screened a record-breaking number of travelers on Friday.
During the last weekend of Thanksgiving, TSA officials screened a record-breaking 2,951,163 individuals at security checkpoints across the country. This surpassed the previous record, which was set back in November 26, 2023.
Public affairs representative of TSA, Lisa Farbstein, made the announcement on X. She praised the people who flew the day before, saying "If you flew yesterday, give yourself a big pat on the back - you were a part of an all-time high in our 22-year history when it comes to airport security checkpoints."
The top 10 busiest travel days in TSA's history include five days from 2024.
