Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is set to run for the Libertarian Party's presidential nomination.
Kennedy declared his candidacy at the convention on Friday, only to be nominated a few days later by a delegate. However, when it was announced, other delegates voiced their disapproval.
In the beginning, Libertarian Party Chair Angela McArdle claimed Kennedy had submitted all the crucial forms to be officially nominated. She requested Kennedy's approval for this nomination publicly, but at first, he didn't respond.
Following his nomination, McArdle later revealed that Kennedy had not submitted an official statement to seek this nomination. But shortly after, a party representative confirmed that he had accepted it on stage. This validity of Kennedy's nomination was affirmed by McArdle herself when she spoke with CNN.
Kennedy reportedly informed CNN previously that he had no intention of attempting to get the party's nomination during this convention weekend.
As for Trump, he was also nominated on the convention floor, only to be disqualified since he didn't file nomination papers. Trump addressed the audience the day before and experienced a frenzy of boos during his speech, with his request for nominations or votes garnering especially harsh reactions.
