King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark - Icy Royal Tour through Greenland

For their first Greenland visit as new Danish king and queen, King Frederik X. (56) and Queen Mary (52) rely on familial support. On the second day of their eight-day schedule in Greenland, which also belongs to the Danish kingdom along with the Faroe Islands, the two received support from their two youngest children, Prince Vincent (13) and Princess Josephine (13). The Danish royal family shared family photos of the appearance on their Instagram channel from the Danish Royal Household.

Danish Royals on "special mission"

The journey of the Danish royals began already on Saturday, the 29th of June, in the northernmost city of Greenland, Qaanaaq. On Sunday, the 30th of June, the Danish royal family and the twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, were finally seen in the Greenlandic Qeqertarsuaq. In several Instagram photos, the Danish royals are seen in thick winter clothing on a research boat in front of a massive iceberg landscape.

As stated in the article, the royal family found themselves on a "special mission." At the Arctic station of the University of Copenhagen, a whale microphone was installed, which should provide researchers with insights into the lives of marine animals all year round.

The next program point in the afternoon was the "Qeqertarsuaq Race," a race intended for all inhabitants and inhabitants of the island. At the race, for which King Frederik gave the start signal, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine also participated, as the palace announced.
