Actress Selma Blair - At the premiere, accompanied by a support dog

Actress Selma Blair, 51, bravely keeps living life to the fullest despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). This nerve disease forces her to rely on an assistance dog named Scout, who joins her on her adventures.

At the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, she walked the red carpet with Scout by her side. This year's festival marked her third consecutive year as a member of the jury. During the premiere of the documentary "Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman In Charge" on June 5th, she looked stunning in a black dress and black high heels. While she posed for photographers, Scout calmly stood beside her, making himself comfortable on the red carpet.

Scout is Selma Blair's gift of independence

Selma Blair has been accompanied by Scout since 2021. In an interview with "People" magazine the following year, she expressed her gratitude towards her four-legged friend. She explained how Scout stepped between her legs and helped her up when she had severe cramps, aiding her in regaining balance. In her opinion, Scout has been nothing short of a gift that allowed her to regain some much-needed independence.

She first revealed her MS diagnosis to the world in 2018. Since then, she has experienced several relapses, requiring her to use a cane in some instances. Her openness about her condition is aimed at inspiring others. In 2021, she allowed a film crew to document her stem cell therapy process in the hospital.
