- Young adolescent meets tragic end in motorcycle mishap
During a road incident in Abensberg, Kelheim district, a 16-year-old biker met with a tragic fate on his motorcycle. He lost grip of his bike while making a right turn on a curve, late Sunday evening, leading to a fall. Unfortunately, he skidded onto the opposing lane. A 30-year-old driving his car in that lane couldn't swerve away in time and collided head-on with the boy and his motorcycle.
As a consequence of this unlucky event, the 16-year-old biker suffered severe injuries and unfortunately passed away right there at the accident spot, according to police reports. The driver of the car, on the other hand, only suffered minor injuries.
Police did not commence an investigation against the 30-year-old due to initial belief that he did not commit any error. State road 2144 was completely shut down for a couple of hours due to the seriousness of the mishap.
Following the fatal accident, authorities from Abensberg and others in the Kelheim district expressed their deep condolences to the bereaved family. The accident site served as a grim reminder for local authorities to emphasize road safety awareness among young drivers.
