- World War I bomb exploded in industrial and chemical park Zeitz

In the Zeitz Chemical and Industrial Park, a 250-kilogram English World War II aircraft bomb was detonated. It was discovered on Friday morning during construction work in Alttroglitz, as reported by the Burgenlandkreis. A 700-meter radius around the site was cordoned off. Employees had to leave nearby businesses. No residential areas were affected. A state road was closed for a few minutes.

The bomb discovered during the construction in Alttroglitz was actually from World War I, not World War II as initially presumed. The World War I bomb, which was a remnant from the Great War, had similarities in structure to the World War II bomb that was detonated.
