The Czech Republic has earned the title of ice hockey world champions for the 13th time, having won against Switzerland in their final match with a score of 2:0 (0:0, 0:0, 2:0). The goals were made by David Pastrnak in the 50th minute and David Kämpf in the 60th minute.

The Czech team's last win was back in 2010 at the World Championship in Germany. On the other hand, the Swiss team, with stars like Roman Josi and Kevin Fiala from the NHL, will have to wait longer for their gold medal. After 2013 and 2018, this was their third consecutive loss in the final, with 17,413 people in attendance. Sweden took bronze, beating Canada in the third-place game with a score of 3:2.

In the first 20 minutes of the match, the Czech team's impressive power field hockey was nowhere to be seen. The Swiss team's defense, led by star defenseman Josi of the Nashville Predators, did a great job. Christoph Bertschy of Switzerland had an opportunity to score, but only hit the post in the 17th minute.

The Czech team tried to pressure the Swiss team in the second half, but their defense held up well, thanks to Josi's presence. There were a few good scoring chances, but the Swiss team's goalkeeper, Genoni, kept playing amazingly. Pastrnak from the Boston Bruins, along with his teammates, made numerous attempts to score against Genoni, who was equally impressive throughout the tournament.

In the group match, when Switzerland had won 2:1 on penalties, their defense also dominated both teams. Pastrnak was actively involved in the NHL playoffs at that time. However, in the final, Pastrnak was the difference-maker, making the first goal in the 50th minute. Switzerland made every effort to avoid losing their third World Cup final. With Lukas Dostal, they were able to save their team from conceding a goal. The Czechs' 13th World Cup triumph became complete when Kämpf made the final goal just a few seconds before the end.
