We are in the third league.

Against SC Verl, Wehen Wiesbaden narrowly avoids a defeat with a bit of luck. Coach Nils Doering still sees many areas for improvement in the 3. Liga.

- We are in the third league.

Wehen Wiesbaden averted a defeat in their return to the 3. Liga with an own goal just before the end. The Hessians secured a fortunate 2:2 (1:1) draw at SC Verl on Saturday. Moritz Flotho (9th minute) had put the guests ahead. Lars Lokotsch (87th) scored an own goal for the guests. Marcel Benger (29th) and Berkan Taz (53rd) had scored for Verl at the Sportclub-Arena.

Wehen Wiesbaden started strongly and took an early lead. However, they became too passive and allowed Verl back into the game. Despite good chances for SC, SVWW had some luck, but Benger eventually rewarded the hosts for their efforts. After the restart, Verl continued to press. A stunning free-kick goal from Taz woke up the Hessians. Despite good opportunities, the ball didn't want to go in. Unlucky that Nick Batzner's goal (72nd) was disallowed due to a previous foul by Ivan-Leon Franjic. In the closing stages, Wehen Wiesbaden increased their intensity and were rewarded.

Oh, my God, we almost lost the game! With just minutes left, they scored an own goal to secure a draw for us.

Despite our best efforts, I can't believe we missed that opportunity to score – it would have been a godsend, Oh, my God.
