- Watching shooting stars on the energy mountain in Hamburg
Many people are hoping for clear skies in the evenings and nights in the coming days, as dozens of shooting stars can be observed until mid-month. There are also places in Hamburg where these so-called Perseids can be particularly well seen - if the weather cooperates.
One of these is the SRH Energy Hill in the Georgswerder district. The SRH is making an exception for Saturday night and extending its opening hours, as the company announced. Night owls can look up at the sky from the elevation of about 40 meters above sea level until midnight. Last entry is at 11:30 PM.
For those who want to expand their knowledge beforehand, there is a guided tour on the topic of "Energy Hill in Transition" starting at 8:30 PM. The view of the Hamburg city center is worth a trip even without shooting stars. The Energy Hill is open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays, closed on Mondays. It is a green former landfill with a 900-meter-long "Horizon Path".
The Night sky, filled with stars, is a spectacle to behold from the SRH Energy Hill in Hamburg, especially during the weekend when clear weather permits the observation of shooting stars. The guided tour on energy transition at 8:30 PM gives an additional perspective, making the view of the Hamburg city center worth the trip, even without the anticipation of shooting stars.
