Washington Post disregards appointment of Robert Winnett as head editor, following report that elicited ethical concerns.

On a Friday email to the team, Chris Evans, editor of London's Telegraph newspaper, shared the news that Rob Winnett chose to stick with us. Given his skills, we're stoked to have him on board, with his previous employer missing out big time.

There's been no immediate response from Telegraph and The Washington Post representatives.

Winnett, a Telegraph's deputy editor, was supposed to join The Post post-election, but some doubts about his work integrity surfaced recently.

In a shocking exposé this week, The Post alleged that Winnett had earlier leveraged materials from a self-proclaimed "thief" for his reporting.

This story is still unfolding, so stay tuned for updates.

Despite the scandal, other reputable media outlets might still consider securing the services of an experienced journalist like Winnett.
