United airplane halts takeoff at Chicago O'Hare airport due to rumored engine blaze, causing authorities to hold back incoming flights.
United Airlines flight 2091, designed to fly to Seattle, had its takeoff around 2 pm CT canceled.
The Federal Aviation Administration mentioned receiving a report of an engine catching fire, yet United Airlines simply referred to it as an "engine issue." The flight's Airbus A320plane, which has two engines, was pushed to its gate, letting the 148 passengers disembark in a regular manner.
United officials confirmed that no injuries occurred and mentioned the fire department and medical personnel met the plane as a precaution.
For 45 minutes, the FAA stopped flights from landing at the airport.
