- Two modest triumphs surfaced for Trump during the television contest, following the established regulations.

The victor of this upcoming confrontation could potentially be the most influential individual globally by next year. On a Tuesday evening (MESZ), Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are scheduled to square off in a television studio in Philadelphia. The globe will bear witness to the discourse between the Democratic US presidential nominee and her Republican adversary.

US Presidential Debate with Strict Guidelines

ABC has established the regulations for this showdown. The most significant one: The microphone of the individual who is not speaking will be silenced. Initially, Harris advocated for both microphones to remain operational throughout. This marked an initial minor triumph for the Trump contingent, which had championed the current rule. Harris eventually conceded to the rule – as did all participants:

  • The debate will span 90 minutes and will incorporate two commercial intermissions.
  • Television anchors David Muir and his fellow host Linsey Davis will direct the proceedings. They will be the only ones to probe the two contenders.
  • A "randomly-generated coin flip" determined the candidates' seating arrangement and sequence of the two-minute closing statements. Trump emerged victorious and selected to conclude with his statement. Harris selected the right side (from the spectators' perspective).
  • Both candidates will be introduced by the moderators – Harris first. They will enter the stage from opposite directions.
  • There will be no opening statements.
  • The candidates will remain upright during the debate, while the moderators will take a seat.
  • Neither candidate may bring premade notes, but they are allowed to jot down notes throughout the debate. They will be equipped with a pen and paper.
  • Each contestant will be supplied with a water bottle.
  • For each inquiry, they will have two minutes to respond, followed by two minutes for counterresponses, and then an additional minute for additional clarification.
  • The competitors may not interrogate one another.
  • During commercial breaks, the candidates will be barred from dialoguing with advisors.
  • The moderators will ensure equitable allocation of speaking time and a respectful dialogue.
  • No audience will be present in the studio.
