In a head-on collision on the B205 near Bad Segeberg, two families - four adults and three children - were injured, some severely. A 38-year-old driver, near the Wahlstedt interchange, inexplicably veered onto the opposite lane of the federal road, police reported. His car collided with a 36-year-old's vehicle.

The 38-year-old and his passenger may be in critical condition. They were airlifted to hospitals in Kiel and Lübeck. An 11-year-old child in the car was also severely injured.

A specialist will investigate the cause

The 36-year-old and his passenger also sustained severe injuries. Two children, aged one and six, who were also in the car, suffered minor injuries. A specialist will determine the cause of the accident. The federal road was completely closed for emergency services and recovery operations.

The 38-year-old driver's actions led to a serious accident. Emergency services are dealing with multiple injured parties due to the accidents.
