Shortly after the failed assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump (78), controversial entrepreneur Elon Musk (53) made his stance on the upcoming presidential election clear on July 14 in a post on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Alongside a video of the assassination attempt, he wrote: "I fully support President Trump and wish him a speedy recovery".
Just a few days later, the "Wall Street Journal" reported that Musk was planning to support his favorite presidential candidate not only with words but also with a monthly sum of $45 million - which Musk promptly denied on X, calling it "fake news".
No false news, however, is the fact that the explicit support of the Tesla CEO seems to be having an effect on his political agenda. As reported by, among others, the magazine "Business Insider" on August 6, Trump, previously known as an opponent of electric mobility, suddenly spoke out in favor of promoting electric cars at a rally in Atlanta. "I'm for electric cars. I have to be, because Elon has clearly taken my side," he said there. And added: "So I don't have a choice".

After the nomination of Kamala Harris (59) as the new presidential candidate of the US Democrats, Trump could use any support from prominent personalities. In this context, he announced a "big interview" with the friendly tech billionaire on his own social media platform "Truth Social" for the coming Monday evening (July 12).
