Trump advocates for Israel to conduct air strikes on Iran's nuclear infrastructure.

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has expressed support for an Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear sites. During a rally in North Carolina, Trump suggested that Biden's initial response should have been "Eliminate the nuclear first, then tackle the rest later." This comment was in response to Biden's statement regarding the possibility of an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities.

In response to being asked if he would back such an action by Israel, Biden said on Wednesday, "My answer is no. We'll consult with the Israelis about their next move." All G7 nations agree that Israel has the right to retaliate against the Iranian rocket attack, with Biden adding that the response should be proportionate.

At his event in Fayetteville, Trump was asked about his thoughts on Iran and potential attacks. He replied, "As long as they don't target the nuclear facilities, what's the problem?" Trump criticized Biden's response as incorrect, stating, "Shouldn't that be your first target? It's our biggest threat – nuclear weapons."

Second major attack in half a year

Trump added, "If they plan to do it, they will," referring to Israel. "We'll discover their strategies."

Iran launched a significant rocket attack against Israel on Tuesday night, marking the second such attack in six months. The Israeli military, according to their reports, was able to intercept a significant portion of the roughly 200 rockets fired by Iran.

Iran retaliated to Israel's military operation in southern Lebanon against the Hezbollah militia and the assassination of its leader Hassan Nasrallah. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu then stated that Iran had "committed a huge error" with the rocket attack and that they would "pay the price."

Up until recently, former President Trump had remained relatively silent regarding this latest Middle East escalation. He only released a strong statement at the beginning of the week, casting blame on Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for the rising tensions.

Trump continued his criticism of Biden's stance on Iran's nuclear program, arguing, "Given the threat posed by Iran's nuclear program, shouldn't the primary focus be its elimination before addressing other issues?" In response to the recent Iranian rocket attack against Israel, he suggested, "If these attacks continue targeting Israel, then we must reconsider our approach towards Iran's nuclear facilities."
