Singer Tim Bendzko (39) is joining the new jury for the Hamburg Reeperbahn Festival's emerging talent award, the Anchor Award. Alongside American singer and guitarist Emily Kokal (Warpaint), Australian musician Julia Stone, and producer Tayla Parx, he will help decide who will receive the award in September 2024, the event organizers announced.

The Anchor Award as a Launchpad for Talent

The Anchor Award, now in its ninth year, aims to provide a stepping stone to the international stage for up-and-coming talent. To make informed decisions, the jury will immerse itself among the audience for two festival days, listening to and observing the six selected acts.

"I'm really looking forward to being an Anchor Award jury member at this year's Reeperbahn Festival!" Bendzko said in a statement. "The festival is renowned for its diversity and the creativity of its artists. I'm excited to experience the next generation of emerging talent and their performances."

The four-day Reeperbahn Festival begins on September 18, serving as one of Europe's most significant club festivals and industry gatherings.

The jury for the Anchor Award, including Tim Bendzko and others, will evaluate at the Reeperbahn Railway Festival. Tim Bendzko expressed his anticipation to be a part of the Anchor Award jury at the upcoming Reeperbahn Railway Festival.
