Tiger Woods reflects on the origin of his iconic red and black outfit and the infamous "tree meme"

Every time Woods played in a golf tournament, he used to wear his lucky color combo of red and black on the last day. Thisuniform choice always resulted in him adding another trophy to his big collection.

On an episode of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', Woods talked about his parents' influence on his choice of outfits. He referred to his dad, Earl, as his best friend and biggest inspiration since his death in 2006, but it was his mom, Kultida, who played a big role in making him wear the now-iconic red and black color combination.

"My mom, being a Capricorn, thought red was my power color. So, I started wearing red and ended up winning some golf tournaments", the 15-time major champion shared. And then Woods decided to wear blue, but he didn't win those tournaments. So, his mom's intuition never fails him.

Mom's mother turned out to be pretty smart since her son ended up winning a record-making 82 PGA Tour wins.

When Woods announced his split from Nike earlier this year, he also introduced his own sports fashion brand called "Sun Day Red". He first unveiled it in February at The Genesis Invitational at The Riviera Country Club. "It's about athletes being first and making something for the athlete so we can perform better", Woods said.

Apart from discussing some memories of Woods' son Charlie, whose golf career is now similar to his dad's, Fallon showed the Golfer some of the most amusing memes based on the famous photo of him shaking hands with what looked like a tree's arm during the Masters tournament.

Photographers caught Woods shaking commentator Verne Lundquist's hand on the 16th hole, and for some reason, it looked like Woods was handshaking with a tree branch. The internet had a field day with funny captions for the event, and Fallon presented some of them to Woods. Telling Fallon it's "the best picture I've ever seen", Woods laughed at the "tree memes" he was shown.
