Three arrests after anti-Semitic insult
Three men have been arrested in Frankfurt for allegedly insulting two men of the Jewish faith in an anti-Semitic manner. According to police reports on Sunday, a rabbi from the Jewish community in Frankfurt and a member of the Jewish community in Dortmund were standing in front of the entrance to a hotel on Saturday evening when the three suspects insulted them because of their religious affiliation. According to the police, the two men were guests at the hotel as part of the annual council meeting of the Central Council of Jews in Germany. One of them was wearing a kippah at the time of the attack.
The police reportedly arrested the three suspects, aged 39, 39 and 44, on the spot, some of whom were heavily intoxicated. It was reported that they were American football fans who had traveled from Baden-Württemberg. They would now have to answer for the insult.
The incident of anti-Semitic insult highlighted a concerning trend, with extremist sentiments potentially underlying the suspects' actions. Consequently, addressing this type of crime and extremism within society is crucial for fostering unity and respect.
