Thomas Müller thinks the German national team has potential for success.

Thomas Muller, a seasoned player in Germany's Euro 2024 squad, has been part of the team's major successful title-winning journey since the 2014 World Cup. Confident in their chances, he expresses his optimism about the upcoming game. He spoke to ntv.de about what matters most on the pitch.

National soccer player Thomas Muller is convinced that Germany has a strong possibility of claiming the European Championship trophy on their own soil. "Yes, we have it in us," he shared during an interview. Muller, from FC Bayern since he was 11 years old, praises national team coach Julian Nagelsmann for his remarkable work in bringing the team back on track. He's noticed Nagelsmann's capacity for making the necessary changes. "We're continuously optimizing. We're adjusting minor details to further improve our success rate," explained Muller.

Despite the final outcome being crucial in soccer, Muller appreciates Nagelsmann's efforts in creating a supportive environment. "Since the November internationals, where we suffered disappointing defeats, to the March internationals and squad restructuring, the team has put great effort into improving," Muller stated.

Muller emphasizes the importance of clear communication in soccer. "The key to a successful team is clear communication," he explains. He believes that a detailed strategy and clear agreements are crucial for a harmonious teamwork.

When it comes to young, talented players, Muller advises them not to lose the joy and excitement in their playing. "Make sure you keep the fun of it all," Muller said. Pushing your limits and stepping out of your comfort zone are necessary in order to compete at the top level. "Enjoy the daily pleasure of your work, the hardships, the preparation – it pays off," Muller encourages.

Concerning the players who haven't made it to the Euro 2024 squad, Muller understands the disappointment. "It's an unfortunate reality," he sighs. "The magnitude of this event, particularly in Germany, you can't simply wish away with arguments. There's not much that can be done for those who haven't made the cut." Germany will face Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland in their preliminary round matches.
