- "The Traitors" secures another season of airing.

RTL's crime series "The Betrayed" is returning for another season. Starting October 10th, a special Halloween episode will air on RTL+'s streaming service, as per the channel's announcement.

Echoes in the Legend's Jungle

Show host Sonja Zietlow herself hinted at the upcoming episode in the "Legends Jungle" segment aired on Monday evening on RTL+. "Three ladies huddling together under the cover of darkness to eliminate the remaining players, one by one. There's something familiar about this, I can't quite Place it," she mused after discussing the possibility of a female alliance against the men in the jungle with three contestants in the dark.

Eight fresh installments

The upcoming "Betrayed" season will feature eight episodes, according to RTL. The first two episodes will be available online on the release date itself, with a new episode added every week. The first season garnered a viewership of over a million viewers across both streaming and linear TV, as per RTL's announcement.

The reality show "The Betrayed - Trust No One!" is a popular international format that originated in the Netherlands. The format revolves around a group trying to determine who among them is a liar over multiple days. Participants are grouped into "Loyalists" and "Betrayers," with no one knowing their own category. However, the audience is privy to this information.

In the first German season, 16 famous personalities assembled in a French chateau and competed against each other in various tasks. The betrayers executed fictional murders at night, gradually reducing the group's size.

Famous personalities like actors Christine Urspruch, Mariella Ahrens, and Claude-Oliver Rudolph, or singer Sabrina Setlur, were among the participants. Anna-Carina Woitschack and Vincent Gross emerged as winners of the first season.

The special Halloween episode of "The Betrayed" on RTL+ might feature a significant role for women, as hinted by Sonja Zietlow's musings about a potential female alliance.

With the return of "The Betrayed" for another season, viewers can expect to see more strong female characters representing the show's diverse lineup.
