The New York appellate court is set to hold oral deliberations concerning Donald Trump's $454 million civil fraud verdict during the upcoming month.

Trump has petitioned the First Department appellate division to invalidate Judge Arthur Engoron's ruling, which declared him guilty of deception and mandated a payment of $354 million, including interest, amounting to more than $100 million altogether.

In the legal documentation, Trump contends that no damage was inflicted, the verdict is unconstitutional, and the lawsuit should never have commenced since the actions under scrutiny are outdated.

The New York attorney general's counterargument is scheduled for submission on Wednesday.

Following the appeals court's reduction of the bond amount in April, Trump put up a $175 million security. This secured bond halted any potential measures by New York Attorney General Letitia James's office to seize properties or bank accounts.

Trump's legal team argues that the politics surrounding his case have influenced the rulings, questioning the impartiality of the judicial process. Furthermore, they believe that the ongoing political climate may impact the fairness of any future decisions in this case.
