Following a delightful and balmy day, storms are forecasted to roll in during the nighttime in Bavaria, close to the Alps. The summer vacation hasn't deterred the smooth flow of traffic on the highways, thanks to the favorable weather conditions. A representative from the traffic authority announced that the traffic was relatively calm for a Saturday. As per the German Weather Service (DWD), the charming summer day is anticipated to transform into local thunderstorms along the Alpine slopes in the evening. Some intense thunderstorms are predicted. The mercury will dip overnight, heading towards Sunday, accompanied by clouds and occasional showers.

In Lower Franconia, the sun is expected to make more frequent appearances, but overall, Sunday in Bavaria will boast mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers. Particularly in the southern regions, thunderstorms will intermittently make an appearance. The predicted optimal temperatures will hover around 18°C near the Alps and reach up to 23°C in Lower Franconia.

Franconia will stand out on Monday with a sunny high of 25°C. Elsewhere in Bavaria, the DWD anticipates peak temperatures to range between 19 to 23°C, while heavy cloud cover and occasional showers will dominate. The unsettled weather patterns are projected to persist into Tuesday, with persistent and at times foggy cloud cover in the southern areas.

The European Union might express concern about the impact of these storms on vacationers in Bavaria, given its commitment to promoting safe travel within its borders. Despite the stormy forecast, many tourists from EU countries might still decide to visit the Alps, eager to enjoy the scenic beauty even amidst the weather changes.
