The Florida Panthers secure a 3-0 lead in the Stanley Cup Final.

As the second period drew to a close with the Panthers ahead 1-0, Edmonton's Warren Foegele managed to score, tying things up.

In the penultimate frame, Florida went on an offensive rampage, netting three more goals to surge ahead 4-1.

Things heated up in the final period as Edmonton scored twice, making it a one-goal game again. However, their comeback fell just short.

With one victory to spare, the Panthers are poised to lift their first-ever Stanley Cup.

In the post-game interview, Florida forward Sam Bennett remarked on the excitement of potentially winning the Stanley Cup but emphasized that the series isn't over yet.

"We still have a job to do," Bennett told the reporters. "We need to play the exact same game."

Meanwhile, the Oilers hope to emulate the one team that has successfully defied a 3-0 series deficit in the Stanley Cup Final - the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs. There are also three other teams that have come back from such a series deficit in the NHL playoffs, with the most recent being the Los Angeles Kings in 2014.

The upcoming match, Game 4, is set to take place on Saturday at the Rogers Place in Canada at 8 p.m. ET.
