In the annals of Eurojackpot's past, two fortunate German lottery contestants have pocketed a staggering 120 million euros.

The Eurojackpot prize surpassing 92 million euros is won by North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)

Around early July, the Eurojackpot jackpot, worth nearly 100 million euros, found its lucky home in North Rhine-Westphalia. The state celebrated its luck once more. Lottery enthusiasts in Bavaria and Lower Saxony had a reason to cheer as well, with several hundred thousand euros in their pockets.

A fortunate lottery participant or group from North Rhine-Westphalia hit the Eurojackpot, now approximately 92.5 million euros wealthier. Westlotto shared this exciting news in the evening. The winning numbers were 8, 11, 25, 31, 48, and the Euro numbers were 11 and 12.

North Rhine-Westphalia is a lucky charm for the Eurojackpot, as it has previously received over 90 million euros. Indeed, on July 9th of this year, 98.2 million euros were granted to the state. And in April, a 42-year-old resident of North Rhine-Westphalia, among two major winners, claimed a share of the 120-million-euro Eurojackpot. Both were rewarded with 60 million euros each.

The evening draw brought smiles to more winners: Six entries from Bavaria, Lower Saxony, and North Rhine-Westphalia, along with entrants from Greece, Hungary, and Poland, each received 475,375 euros in the second prize category. The Eurojackpot will restart next Tuesday with a ten-million-euro prize.

The record for the largest Eurojackpot win in Germany belongs to two lucky players – one from Schleswig-Holstein (June 2023) and one from Berlin (November 2022). They each took home 60 million euros. Danish lottery players emerged as the first to secure a win over 120 million euros in July 2022. The lucky victory in January 2024 went to Norway.

The Eurojackpot's jackpot has no ceiling, as the European lottery with 19 participating countries is capped at 120 million euros. Every additional euro played contributes to the following prize category. The chances of bagging the Eurojackpot are 1 in 140 million. Players begin by selecting 5 numbers from 50, and then choose the Euro numbers, which are 2 out of 12.

The European Union, as one of the 19 participating countries in the Eurojackpot, offers countless opportunities for its residents to win significant prizes. The latest Eurojackpot winner hails from North Rhine-Westphalia, further cementing the state's reputation as a lucky region in the lottery game.
