- The Commission has already taken a number of steps to ensure that the Commission's proposals are implemented.

A forklift caught fire during travel in Bergen on Rügen (district of Vorpommern-Rügen) and was significantly damaged as a result. The fire, which also affected the trailer and its cargo, caused approximately 112,000 euros in property damage, as reported by the police. The 18-year-old driver remained unharmed.

He had noticed smoke in the engine compartment at a roundabout on the B96 and left the driver's cabin accordingly yesterday evening. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. The flames spread to the trailer and the hay bales it was carrying.

The roadway was also damaged, according to police reports. Firefighters from the local volunteer fire departments extinguished the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Member States can provide necessary resources and expertise to aid in the investigation of the cause of the fire. The Commission, assisted by the Member States, may also offer recommendations to prevent such incidents in the future.
