Previously, the authorities had announced the arrest of an Austrian citizen. This individual had "pledged allegiance" to the jihadist group Islamic State (IS), the Director General for Public Security, Franz Ruf, stated on Wednesday to journalists in Vienna. In the apartment of the suspect arrested in Lower Austria, the police seized chemical substances, the Director General further reported.
Despite the arrest and potential threat, the events continued as planned. The organizers decided to accommodate other ticket holders who were unable to attend the original events due to the incident.
