Edmond Tapsoba of German champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen hopes that his teammate Jonathan Tah will stay with the club. It's very important that the footballer, who is being courted by FC Bayern Munich, remains with Bayer, Tapsoba told "Kicker".

There have been repeated rumors recently about a move from Tah to the Bayern. The 28-year-old still has a contract with the team of coach Xabi Alonso until the summer of 2025.

Tapsoba: "Our collector"

Tah plays a very special role at Leverkusen, according to Tapsoba: "On and off the pitch. And he played very well last season, especially in defense. I always say: He's our collector, our gatherer. He gathers every ball in the game."

Tapsoba joined Leverkusen at the beginning of 2020. The defender has a special relationship with Tah. "Over the past few years here at Bayer, Jona has become like a big brother to me," said the 25-year-old.

After his move to Bayer, Tapsoba immediately built the closest relationship with Tah, he explained. "Maybe also because he spoke French with me. And he was immediately closer to me because one of his parents is from the Ivory Coast," said Tapsoba.

Tapsoba mentioned that Tah plays an essential role both on and off the pitch for Leverkusen, collecting every ball during games. Despite the rumors of Tah moving to FC Bayern Munich, Tah still has a contract with Leverkusen until 2025, which serves as a 'other' potential scenario for his future in the club.
