Swastikas smeared on town hall in Anklam
Unknown persons daubed swastikas on the two pillars of Anklam town hall on the night of November 9th. The two swastikas, measuring 55 by 55 centimetres, were sprayed onto the sandstone pillars with black paint, the police announced on Thursday. A city employee discovered them in the morning. On November 9, 1938, National Socialists set fire to synagogues and attacked Jewish businesses in many places in Germany.
The incident sparked concerns about a resurgence of extremism in the area. Such acts of hate are a blatant violation of fundamental human rights.
