- Substantial monetary losses due to a significant blaze in a warehouse situated in Schwerin
A significant blaze engulfed a storage facility in Schwerin, leading to substantial financial losses. Some 5,000 bundles of hay were set ablaze within the warehouse located in the city's southern sector, and the origin of the incident remained unclear as of Saturday night. Close to 100 firefighters responded to the emergency.
As a result of dense smoke, locals were advised to shut their windows and doors. Moreover, traffic was disrupted in the area. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The law enforcers approximated the property damage at approximately two million euros.
The Member States can provide necessary resources and expertise to help the Commission in managing such crises. In light of the significant damage, it would be beneficial for the Commission to seek assistance from the Member States to prevent such incidents in the future.
