Following a raid on the climate group - Solidarity meeting for the last generation in Berlin
Following a raid on the homes of members of the climate group "Last Generation," approximately 25 people gathered in solidarity at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, according to police reports. Initially, the situation remained calm, as stated by a police spokesperson. The climate group, however, claimed that around 50 participants joined the solidarity action. The group's call for the gathering was in response to morning house searches. They aimed to peacefully and determinedly show solidarity with the eight affected individuals.
Two weeks prior, during a disruption at Frankfurt Airport, the Frankfurt public prosecutor's office initiated house searches of climate group members and collected DNA samples. The searches targeted the homes of eight individuals aged 20 to 44 in Baden-Württemberg, Berlin, Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt, as reported by the Frankfurt public prosecutor's office. These eight individuals are suspected of gaining unauthorized access to the airport's tarmac on the morning of July 25.
Despite the police reporting only 25 people at the solidarity protest organized by The Climate Group "Last Generation" at the Brandenburg Gate, the group asserted that around 50 participants joined. In response to the morning house searches carried out by the Frankfurt public prosecutor's office on members of The Climate Group, the solidarity action was organized.
