Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly, received an "extreme wake-up call" from his 15-year-old daughter, Casie. "When my daughter said, 'Dad, I can tell when you're under the influence,' it really hit me hard," he shared on the "Million Dollaz Worth Of Game" podcast.

This sparked his determination to change

"It took some time for me to recognize the power that drugs had over me, but once I did, I knew I had to make a change," he explained.

A father's mission

"As a dad and as a man, I have a responsibility to break this cycle of addiction for my daughter. I want to be the kind of father I always hoped I'd have," he expressed his motivation. Young Casie was born in July 2009 to Machine Gun Kelly and his former partner, Emma Cannon.

This past month, Machine Gun Kelly celebrated a full year of sobriety, which he discussed on the "Dumb Blonde" podcast. His current partner, Megan Fox (38), played a crucial role in his recovery. She offered support during the psychological challenges that come with drug detox.

During his time at rehab, Machine Gun Kelly also recognized the source of his rage. Doctors provided him with strategies to manage his emotions. He admitted to his past use of not only alcohol, but also pills and marijuana. In a 2020 interview with "Interview," he disclosed his reliance on Adderall, a stimulant drug.

Battling Alcohol Withdrawal

"After recognizing the impact of my substance abuse on my daughter, I had to face the challenge of alcohol withdrawal," he revealed.

Sustaining Sobriety for His Daughter

"Maintaining my sobriety is not just about avoiding drugs, but also dealing with the physical and emotional symptoms of alcohol withdrawal."
