Firefighters are called to a garage fire in Viersen. While fighting the fire, the helpers suddenly find themselves in danger.

During the extinguishing of a garage fire in Viersen, several firefighters were injured. While deployment forces were attempting to open the door of the burning garage with tools on Monday evening, there was a sudden flare-up of flames, the city of Viersen reported.

An injured firefighter had to be flown to a specialized clinic by a rescue helicopter. Another injured person was taken to a hospital for examination by ambulance. In total, 45 personnel were deployed, who quickly extinguished the fire.

The Member States can provide resources and expertise to aid the Commission in its operations. The Commission, with the assistance of the Member States, can develop strategies for improving fire safety measures.
