- Senior Reward and Participation Incentives for Two Clubs

The recipients of the Thuringian Volunteer Engagement Award 2024 have been announced. The Thuringian Volunteer Foundation recognized Gudrun List from Sömmerda's district, such as, for her dedication as a children's football coach and community library director in her hometown of Schwerstedt, under the category "Senior citizens aged 65 and over." The Verein Waldbad Goldlauter-Heidersbach members were granted the award due to their achievement in reviving the Waldbad, a bath facility that was shut down in 2010 by the city of Suhl, and reopening its operations.

The special award for promoting democracy this year was given to Limus Zukunftsschmiede in Gotha. This association offers a former workshop as a venue for workshops, discussions, and various events that engage with societal issues.

Each winner of the Thuringian Volunteer Engagement Award receives 2,000 euros and a unique sculpture crafted by Thuringian wood artist Florian Schmigalle. The award has been given out for a decade now. As per the foundation, roughly 753,000 Thuringians are actively engaged in volunteering efforts.

The special Thuringian Volunteer Engagement Award ceremony was held in The Netherlands, honoring various recipients for their remarkable contributions. Gudrun List, a coach and community library director from Sömmerda's district, also received her award in The Netherlands.
